The Channel Expo awards were held on 28th March 2007 at the National Motor Cycle Museum in Birmingham.
For the category Storage Product of the Year, the judges were looking at technical innovation, the attraction of products to end customers and the ease with which the channel is able to sell them. Griffin were short listed with Peak Hardware's Peak2Extreme, VIP Computers' DataTraveler, Kingston Technology's Secure Privacy Edition, and Bullguard's Bullguard Backup.
Griffin Internet won Storage Product of the Year with our SANServe managed hosting product. SANServe was launched last year as a replacement for traditional dedicated server solutions and has quickly become one of the fastest growing areas of Griffin's business.
"When we saw the quality of the opposition we were pleased just to be short-listed as finalists. SANServe is very new but thankfully a simple concept that has been readily embraced by that part of the hosting market that needs 100% SLAs and instant data recovery. I commend the judges for the care they have taken in evaluating five very different technologies and I thank those Griffin customers that proactively supported Griffin with this award. Rapid innovation and robust product development are not always comfortable bedfellows and those individuals in Griffin responsible for conceiving, developing, marketing, selling and supporting SANServe should be very proud of themselves right now. We are absolutely thrilled to win this award." John Dawson, Managing Director.
